For two years, the Discovery Health Channel has chronicled the Duggar family through a series of documentaries.
Now, through the magic of television, you will be able to take a peek inside the lives of the Duggars as they pack their RV and hit the road for a vacation of a lifetime.
Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar along with their 16 children and a film crew from Advanced Medical Productions arrived at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch on March 1, 2006. Their adventures at the ranch were documented for "On the Road with 16 Children", which will air on the Discovery Health channel in June 2006.
The production crew filmed all of the action for three days while the Duggars enjoyed a taste of ranch living. The family was introduced to the ranch and presented with t-shirts, water bottles, bandanas and name tags in the style of sheriff badges.
The kids didn't sit still for very long. The older children were taught some basic horsemanship techniques and then put their new skills to the test with a trail ride down Middle Taylor Creek Canyon. Meanwhile, the younger children made western picture frames and bookmarks back at the ranch. When the group rejoined each other, everyone cooked their own hot dogs over the campfire.
After lunch, all 18 of the Duggars packed into the family van and drove to a Native American site with dwellings and pottery. Even the littlest Duggar (Johanna, 6 months) hiked back into the wilderness to see Native American rock wall writings. The excursion was followed by a hay ride before getting everyone fed and off to bed. The next morning, the children got to see how much work life on the ranch can be. Everyone helped feed the horses hay and grain. They also were able to learn a little bit about our solar-generated power system. Then, they got to meet "Oscar", our 2 week old foal. After lunch, the whole gang took off on a hay ride for a treasure hunt adventure.
The visit was topped off with a "rodeo" down at the Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch arena. There were many fun events including a boot race, egg and spoon and a roping competition. The wildest event of them all must have been the capture the flag race where all of the children were in the arena at once attempting to pull a flag attached to the manes of two of our miniature horses who were doing their best to run and hide! Everyone was awarded trophies and olympic style medals.
The next morning, no one wanted to leave the ranch to go on to the next portion of their vacation. Joy-Anna even tried to load Nacho, one of the miniature horses, into the RV. When it was finally time for the Duggars to depart, there were hugs all around and hopes of returning to visit the ranch again someday. Everyone agreed it would be a time they would never forget.
Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch would like to thank Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their family for visiting us and Advanced Medical Productions for doing such a great job of helping out and filming as unobtrusively as possible.

What did the Duggars think about their
Western adventure at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch?
"Our whole family has loved our time here at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch. This is the first time our children have been out West. The land is absolutely beautiful, the horses were so much fun, but most of all your hospitality made it so special. This will be a highlight of memories and special times together in the Duggar family. All 16 of our children don't want to leave but we must continue our vacation and get back home. You have all placed in their hearts a love for riding and taking care of horses that will impact them for generations to come." - Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar

" We had a blast! What a blessing it was to spend time at Geronimo Trail Guest Ranch with Ya'll!
We can truly say we have never before had our children to come up to us and ask if they could please go to bed! You all are amazing!"
